Moldovan ambassadors to meet in Chisinau to discuss foreign policy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) of Moldova is organising a meeting of Moldovan ambassadors in Chisinau from 16 to 17 August 2023. The event will be opened by President Maia Sandu and Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu.

The meeting is aimed at examining issues related to the implementation of Moldova's foreign policy and setting new tasks and priorities in the short and medium term. It will also assess the work of diplomatic missions and increase their efficiency.

The meeting will examine issues related to the development of international relations in recent times, including the progress of the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union.

Diaspora issues will also be high on the agenda. The heads of diplomatic missions will participate in the Diaspora Day and the Diaspora Business Forum, where they will discuss ways to provide social protection to Moldovan citizens living abroad.

In order to make the work of embassies more efficient, the agenda of the event also includes meetings of heads of missions with President Maia Sandu, Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and other heads of state institutions. Several Ministers of Foreign Affairs will also participate as special guests, with video-conference interventions.
