Moldova seeks foreign aid at next edition of Support Platform
The next edition of the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova will take place in Chisinau on 17 October, President Maia Sandu said at the opening of the Ambassadors' meeting. The head of state stressed that the authorities of our country will discuss with development partners the needs for foreign aid and other topics of interest.
"You probably know that we will discuss with our development partners on Moldova's support platform - "Moldova Support Platform". On 17 October in Chisinau we will discuss our foreign aid needs for the coming period and, obviously, your role remains to promote trade and to promote our country as a safe destination for quality foreign investment," Maia Sandu said.
The Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova is an initiative of Romania, Germany and France, which aims to mobilise political, technical and financial support from developed countries for our country.
The first edition of the Ministerial Conference of the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova took place in Germany, in Berlin, in April 2022. The second took place in Bucharest on 15 July and the last one in France in November 2022.
At the three ministerial conferences, development partners announced financial and humanitarian commitments for the Republic of Moldova worth around €1.4 billion to be allocated and leveraged over the coming years.
