Between 13:51 and 19:12, eight other earthquakes shook Hungary. Of these, the largest had a magnitude of 3.9 and the smallest 2.1.

At 19:20, another quake was recorded, of magnitude 4.0. At the same time, an earthquake, measuring 3.7, also occurred in Romania, in Banat, Caras-Severin.

Two other earthquakes occurred in Hungary on Sunday morning, with magnitudes of 3.9 and 3.4 respectively.

The earthquakes were caused by the movement of the Carpathian plate, which is being subducted under the Pannonian plate. The region is seismically active and earthquakes are not uncommon.
