COVID-19 cases in Moldova double in one week
The number of COVID-19 cases in the Republic of Moldova is increasing, according to the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP).
From 7 to 13 August 2023, 54 cases were registered in the country, more than twice as many as the previous week.
During July, 95 people contracted the virus, down about 9.5% from June 2023. Among children, nine cases were recorded. Due to complications, one person died.
The ANSP is reminding citizens of the importance of observing the main protective measures, such as physical distance, avoiding crowded places, and practising good hand hygiene.
The ANSP also reiterates that vaccination against COVID-19 remains the most effective way to avoid severe illness and death.
