"The Ukrainian people have been defending their freedom for over 500 days, and Moldova will stand with Ukraine until victory is on its side," Grosu said in a statement on the country's 32nd Independence Day.

"Moldova enjoys peace today thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian people. We will continue to help Ukraine, because we all want to live in freedom and peace. We strongly condemn the Russian aggression in Ukraine and believe that Russia must immediately and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the national territory of Ukraine." Grosu said: "Moldova and the whole of Europe enjoy peace today thanks to the courage and sacrifice of the Ukrainian people. We will continue to support Ukraine in its just fight for Freedom and Integrity. Good always prevails! Glory to Ukraine!"

Moldova's President Maia Sandu also sent a message of congratulations to Ukraine, saying that "Moldova looks up to Ukraine with deep respect, not just as a neighbour, but as a symbol of resistance and hope."

Moldova's Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu said that Moldova is today safe from any military danger thanks to Ukraine, and that the country will continue to provide Ukraine with all possible assistance.
