Ukraine feels more independent than ever on Independence Day

Ukraine marks today its 32nd Independence Day, and its ambassador to Moldova, Marko Shevchenko, says that his country feels more independent than ever.

"We are at the highest level of independence and at the highest level of military power," Shevchenko told the "La 360 de grade" Radio Moldova's show in Chisinau. "Our independence and power in some areas was greater and stronger before the war, for example in the economic sphere. We are less independent financially. A large part of the state budget is now covered with the help of our partners and allies, but in general, I would say that, at least for the time being, we are absolutely independent from the Russian Federation."

Ukraine was more economically independent before the war, but has received significant financial assistance from its allies since the start of the conflict, according to Ambassador Shevchenko
