British Ambassador to Chisinau welcomes the transposition into national legislation of the sanctions against Șor and Plahotniuc
The British Ambassador to Chisinau, Steven Fisher, welcomes the decision of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to transpose into the national legislation, through the Magnitsky Law project, the sanctions recently imposed by London regarding the oligarchs Vladimir Plahotniuc and Ilan Șor. In an interview from TV8, Steven Fisher emphasized that the way in which sanctions are applied at the national level must be decided by Chisinau.

Steven Fisher also mentioned that sanctions will most likely follow for other Moldovan citizens. His Excellency also stated that the sanctions applied to Plahotniuc and Șor are also valid in the overseas territories of the United Kingdom. According to Steven Fisher, the assets of the oligarchs, held in these territories, are frozen.
