Bookfest Chișinău 2023: Over 31 publishers from Romania and Moldova
The International Book Fair Bookfest returns to Chișinău, Moldova, for its sixth edition, from August 30 to September 3, 2023, at the Mediacor Center of the Moldova State University.
The fair will be held under the patronage of the presidents of Moldova and Romania, Maia Sandu and Klaus Iohannis. Over 31 publishers from Romania and Moldova will participate, offering a wide variety of books in Romanian.
"We are preparing a true celebration of the book," said Igor Șarov, rector of the Moldova State University. "We are pleased that Bookfest in Moldova has been very successful in recent years, with sales comparable to those of the fairs held in Romania. We are also seeing an increase in interest in book launches."
Șarov encouraged book lovers to attend the fair and purchase books, which he said are cheaper than those found in bookstores.
The fair will offer a variety of events for people of all ages, including book launches, workshops, and readings. It will be open daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Admission is free.
