The attack was a joint operation between the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, following an exchange of military intelligence. According to Ukrainian officials, the brigade's ammunition depots were damaged, and the occupiers were not prepared for the Ukrainian operation.

"Our drones were able to evade all enemy air defence systems," Ukrainian officials said.

The Security Service of Ukraine warned that such "surprises" would continue in the future.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that its air defences shot down a drone that was allegedly launched by Ukraine over Moscow.

"In the evening, air defence forces destroyed a drone near Moscow in the Istra district," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the mayor of Moscow, there were no casualties or damage, but the main airports in the Russian capital were briefly closed.
