Moldova's Speaker: Country is more secure, stronger at 32
The Republic of Moldova has become more secure and stronger after 32 years of independence, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.
"Happy Independence Day, Moldova! At 32 years old, I see it as more secure, stronger, more confident, and knowing what it wants. This is the most important thing. I am sure that what it wants will be achieved very soon," Grosu said.
Moldova is celebrating 32 years since it declared independence. In 1991, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the country became free to choose its own future. Moldova is currently a candidate country for membership in the European Union and is determined to join the bloc by 2030.
