Zelensky calls for reconstruction of Kahovka Dam

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the reconstruction of the Kahovka Dam, which was destroyed by Russian forces in early June.

In an interview aired on Sunday, Zelensky said that the dam is essential for providing water to over a million people in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"We need to rebuild the Kahovka Dam," Zelensky said. "If there is no support, we will have to find a billion and a half [euros], I don't know the exact amount... But we have to do this, because we need water for people, because there will be no life there without this water."

Zelensky also said that the government is working on temporary alternative solutions to the problems caused by the destruction of the dam. However, he said that these solutions are not a long-term solution.

The Kakhovka Dam is a vital piece of infrastructure for Ukraine. It provides water for irrigation, drinking, and industrial use. The destruction of the dam has had a significant impact on the region, and its reconstruction is essential for the recovery of Ukraine.
