US military aid to Ukraine reaches $44 billion
The United States on Tuesday announced a new $250 million military aid package for Ukraine, including air defence missiles, artillery ammunition, Javelin missile systems, and demining equipment, CNN reports.
The package also includes "spare parts, services, training, and transportation" for ambulances, said U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
"Russia started this war and could end it at any time by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and stopping its brutal attacks," Blinken said. "Until it does, the United States and our allies and partners will remain united with Ukraine for as long as it takes."
According to Ukrainian media, the total value of U.S. military aid provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022 is about $44 billion.
