Most border crossings in Moldova are by foreigners
Over 64,000 people crossed the state border of the Republic of Moldova in the past 24 hours, with more citizens exiting the country. The busiest border crossing points remain Leușeni, Chișinău International Airport, and Sculeni.
The Border Police reminds that eight border crossing points are open to traffic with Romania, and 33 with Ukraine.
"More crossings were by foreign citizens - 38,987, while crossings by Moldovan citizens amounted to 25,438. With regard to the crossing of the border by Ukrainian citizens, a total of 13,622 crossings were recorded, of which 7,079 were on the entry side into Moldova. At the same time, 1,930 were the crossings of Ukrainian minors," the Border Police specifies.
To avoid traffic jams at customs, travellers are urged to choose other border crossing points such as Leova-Bumbăta, Costești-Stânca, or Tudora.
