Russia shoots down two Ukrainian drones
Russia's Defense Ministry said on Monday that it had shot down two Ukrainian drones, one over the Black Sea near the Crimean Peninsula and another over the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, as reported by Agerpres.ro.
The drones were shot down by Russian air defence systems at around 1:00 a.m. local time (11:00 p.m. GMT), the ministry said in a statement on Telegram.
Attacks by Ukrainian drones against Russian territory and the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, have increased in recent weeks.
Kyiv, which launched a counteroffensive in early June to retake territory seized by Russia, has repeatedly expressed its intention to retake the Crimean Peninsula.
