U.S. fighter jets to Romania after Russian drone fragments found
The United States will soon send fighter jets to Romania to supplement NATO's air policing missions, after fragments of Russian military drones were found in Tulcea County, Romania, Radio România Actualități reports.
The decision was announced by the Romanian government, which has been in talks with the United States about increasing security in the region.
Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu spoke last night with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, after Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr had met US Ambassador to Bucharest Kathleen Kavalec a little earlier to discuss the security situation created by Russia's attacks on Ukraine's port infrastructure on the Danube near the Romanian border.
