Moldova, Lithuania discuss progress in EU accession process
The progress of Moldova in its European Union accession process and close cooperation with Lithuania were the topics discussed by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in Vilnius and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis.
The officials also discussed the fourth edition of the Platform for Support for Moldova.
The Moldovan official said it is an essential tool to help the country overcome the multiple crises of 2022.
“We want to focus on areas such as: strengthening state institutions, economic resilience, energy security and infrastructure, and attracting investments.”
The head of the legislature assured the Lithuanian Foreign Minister that all institutions in Moldova are involved in the process of implementing the conditions set out by the European Commission in the context of granting our country the status of candidate country for EU accession and obtaining the decision to start accession negotiations.
Igor Grosu was on a two-day working visit to Lithuania.
