Head of state Maia Sandu met today at the Presidency with the soloist of the band "Okean Elzî", Sveatoslav Vakarciuk, who this evening will perform a charity concert in Chisinau, as part of the "Help for Ukraine" tour. The artist conveyed the "light of Bethlehem" to the president on behalf of the Ukrainian soldiers in Kherson.
In turn, Maia Sandu gave him with a commemorative coin with the "Tree of Life", wishing the Ukrainian people the much-desired victory and peace in the new year. "We are grateful for the sacrifice made by the Ukrainian people during these more than 300 days of war - a sacrifice that also defends us, the Republic of Moldova. I assured him that our position remains firm - Russia must leave Ukraine - and that we will continue to support the neighboring country in its fight for freedom", said Maia Sandu.
