China's Wang Yi visits Russia for security talks

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Moscow on Monday for a four-day visit to discuss security issues with Russian officials, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced.

The visit comes at a time of heightened tensions between Russia and the West over the war in Ukraine. China has refused to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the two countries have strengthened their ties in recent months.

Wang Yi is scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The two ministers are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the war in Ukraine, the situation in Afghanistan, and cooperation in Asia.

The visit is also seen as an opportunity for China to show its support for Russia, which has become increasingly isolated on the world stage.
