Kamikaze drone crashes in Bulgaria, near Romanian border
A kamikaze drone crashed in Bulgaria on the night of September 17, 2023, at the edge of a village in the northeastern part of the country, about 35 kilometres from the Romanian border.
Authorities in Sofia do not know if the aircraft belongs to Ukraine or Russia, but they say that the explosive payload did not detonate because the landing was relatively soft.
Bulgarian journalists report that the drone is three metres long and the bomb is about 50 centimetres long. The area has been cordoned off, and engineers have been dispatched to the scene to disarm the explosive payload.
