The interest of the leaders of the Republic of Moldova is to have an army as robust and competent as possible, and NATO is willing to cooperate in this direction, said the deputy general secretary of the Alliance, Mircea Geoană, in an interview for Moldova 1 TV.

"We are investing together with the Republic of Moldova and the European Union in strengthening the economic, institutional and civic resilience of the Republic of Moldova, which is very, very important. And as Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated - a program to make the armed forces of the Republic of Moldova fully interoperable, not the NATO part, but interoperable with NATO. Why? Because it's the best in the world at what we do. And the war in Ukraine is a clear proof", said Mircea Geoană.

We remind you that, last week, the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Mircea Geoană, was on a two-day visit to the Republic of Moldova. The official stated in a joint press conference held with Prime Minister Dorin Recean that, from a political and strategic point of view, the Republic of Moldova belongs to the family of European democracies. Also, he said that NATO does not see a military risk from the Russian Federation to our country. Instead, he asserts, the Russian Federation deploys the entire arsenal of hybrid warfare in the Republic of Moldova.
