Head of the CNA explains how the phenomenon of corruption in the medical system can be reduced
In order to reduce the phenomenon of corruption in the medical system, it is necessary to train new skills among the population, said the director of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), Iulian Rusu, in the show "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova. The official stated that the official payment of additional medical services, with receipts and online scheduling for doctor's consultations, would be some of the actions that could reduce this phenomenon.
"In addition to the factor related to certain habits that our society has formed over the years, I think that it is necessary to form new habits, for example: paying for services with a receipt, at the hospital or the Family Doctors' center, the use of information technologies and it is important that citizens know their rights well. The medical insurance system offers a number of rights and the number of illnesses that are insured by the state increases from year to year. Within the CNA we have prevention tools".
We remind that the data of a study, carried out by Magenta Consulting, reveal that more than 50 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova consider corruption as one of the main problems of the medical system in the country. Another 37 percent are dissatisfied with the costs of treatment.
