Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs
The European path of the Republic of Moldova and the importance of the support offered by the USA in carrying out the necessary reforms to achieve this goal were addressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, at a meeting with the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Yuri Kim.
"In this context, I highlighted our significant progress, including the implementation of the nine recommendations of the European Commission, and I emphasized the Government's firm commitment to continue these efforts for the benefit of Moldovan citizens", declared Nicu Popescu.
The minister also emphasized the continuous aid that the US gives to our country in terms of democratic development, regional security and strengthening of bilateral relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and the US Department of State are engaged in maintaining open communication and a strong collaboration to promote common objectives in the field of international relations and good governance, said Nicu Popescu.
We mention that, between September 18 and 22, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu is participating, within the delegation led by President Maia Sandu, in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
