Alexandr Nesterovschi will spend 30 days in solitary confinement, and deputy Irina Lozovan, under house arrest

Deputy Alexandr Nesterovschi will spend the next 30 days in solitary confinement and deputy Irina Lozovan will spend 30 days under house arrest. The decision was taken following the court session on September 23, at the Ciocana Court.

Deputy Alexandr Nesterovschi, who was recently left without parliamentary immunity, was taken before the magistrates at the Ciocana Court on Saturday, being led by masked men.

We remind you that on September 21, the Parliament voted to withdraw the immunity of deputies Irina Lozovan and Alexandr Nesterovschi.

Irina Lozovan is being investigated for knowingly accepting political funding from the criminal group led by Ilan Şor, and for money laundering. Alexandr Nesterovschi is accused of passive corruption, of allegedly accepting financial support from the Şor criminal group and, at the same time, of having organized the illegal financing scheme of the "Renaissance" Party. The head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin, mentioned that, in recent months, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office jointly with the Intelligence and Security Service had managed several criminal files, aimed at the financing of political parties.

We remind you that in March Alexandr Nesterovschi announced that he was leaving the Socialist Party. He stated that he will remain an independent deputy, but he joined the "Movement for the People". Shortly after, he was joined by deputy Irina Lozovan.

On March 30, the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova asked the two deputies to submit their mandates, something that has not happened until now.
