The approach of the Republic of Moldova regarding the settlement of the Transnistrian dispute was reiterated by the head of state, Maia Sandu, at the UN General Assembly in New York, in the context of hybrid threats from the Russian Federation, stated Andrei Curăraru.

"He referred to what the hybrid war waged against us means, the impact on different parts of the economy, society, energy, the Transnistrian conflict, etc. The situation in the transnistrian region is, I believe, the red line that continues in every representation of the Republic of Moldova at the UN, and I believe that it is a situation in which we see that the 5+2 format and the resolution of the conflict in general could be made more efficient, given the favorable position of Ukraine, and the opening of our European partners to find a solution for this region", said the expert.

We remind that the last meeting in the 5+2 format took place on October 9-10, 2019 in Bratislava.
