Three more parties nominate mayoral candidates for Chisinau and Balti
The Party of Change has nominated its leader, Ștefan Gligor, as its candidate for mayor of Chisinau. The decision was made on September 23 following an extraordinary congress and the National Political Council, which concluded that there is currently no competent and credible candidate for the position of Mayor of Chisinau.
Nicolae Grigorișin will also run for mayor of Balti on behalf of the same party. According to the party that nominated him, he is the only candidate capable of standing up to the Shor group. Nicolai Grigorișin is currently the mayor of Balti, after winning the local elections in 2021, in the second round.
Political commentator Roman Mihăeș is the candidate of the Liberal National Party of Moldova (PNL) for the position of mayor of Chisinau. A decision in this regard was taken on Saturday at the Conference of the Municipal Organization of the party. He announced that he will submit his file to the Chisinau Electoral Council on Monday.
In the meantime, Cristina Vulpe has been nominated as the candidate of the Chance Party for the position of general mayor of Chisinau. She presented herself as a "public official and teacher". In a speech to her supporters, Cristina Vulpe mentioned that she would resign from office if she was unable to fulfil her electoral promises.
