Boris Gîlca: The municipality of Chisinau is facing an unprecedented epidemiological situation
At the municipal children's hospital no. 1, 130 children up to two years old are admitted on 100 existing beds, and at the municipal clinical hospital for infectious diseases for children, 129 children are admitted on 100 existing beds. The announcement was made by the head of the Social Assistance and Health Department of the Chisinau City Hall, Boris Gîlca, during the operative session of the City Hall.
. "At the children's hospital "V. Ignatenco" 130 children are hospitalized with complications of respiratory tract infections. It is a very complicated period. It is an unprecedented epidemiological situation. Probably, discharges will follow today and we will be able to replace the number of admissions", said Boris Gîlca. The official stated that the number of cases of acute respiratory infections in the municipality of Chisinau has increased to 7,200. This number is 2,000 more than those announced last week and more than 5,000 - compared to the same period last year.
