Moldovan PM to visit Germany for talks on EU membership

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean will visit Germany from September 27-29 for talks on a range of issues, including investment, energy, and EU membership.

Recean will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as with lawmakers, ministers, and business leaders. He will also attend a forum with his Romanian counterpart, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

"The topics to be discussed include the investment opportunities in our country by attracting German businessmen, ensuring energy security, and promoting Moldovan products on the EU market," said Daniel Voda, the government's press secretary. "The conversations with German partners will also address the issues related to our country's accession to the European Union, with Germany's support being particularly important in this process."

Recean will be accompanied by Moldovan Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba and Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov.

Germany is one of the founding states of the Platform for Support for Moldova, an event that will take place in Chisinau on October 17.
