The police urge drivers to drive legally and be responsible.

Recently, there have also been parliamentary hearings on the number of road accidents. According to the head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernăuțeanu, in the last two years the lowest rate of accidents and deaths in traffic was recorded. The fact that the authorities speak publicly about the recent tragedies creates the impression that their number has increased, said the head of the IGP. He suggested that a cause of the accidents is also the negligence of the local authorities towards the road infrastructure.

On the other hand, the president of the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Public Order, PAS deputy, Lilian Carp, is reserved about the statistics presented by the head of the IGP.

The data of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reveal that last year over 2,300 accidents were registered in road traffic, as a result of which 217 people died.
