Moldova to honour top teachers at annual competition
The best teachers in Moldova will be honoured at the finals of the "Teacher of the Year" competition, which will be held tomorrow at the Chisinau Arena, according to Education Minister Dan Perciun.
Perciun said that about 4,500 teachers from general education are expected to attend the event.
"This year, we decided to give the event a special scope and hold it at the Chisinau Arena," Perciun said. "We will offer 9 prizes for 3 categories of teachers, both those who work in schools and those who work in kindergartens. At the end, there will also be a festive concert."
The competition was open to teachers who have been involved in the development of school textbooks, the administration of exams, including the baccalaureate, and have contributed to the development of the education system.
On October 7, another event dedicated to teachers will take place, namely, the first edition of the National Forum of Teachers, organised at the initiative of President Maia Sandu. The discussions will focus on the current situation in the national education system.
