Ukraine has suggested it was behind the drone attack on a Russian airbase
Ukraine has suggested it was behind a drone attack on a Russian military air base that killed three people. A spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force said the operation was a result of Russian aggression, the BBC reports.
Moscow announced that the drone was shot down over the Engels Air Base and the remains of the downed drone killed three Russian servicemen. It is the second time in less than a month that Engels Air Base has come under attack, and in both cases the Russian military has blamed Ukrainian drones. The Russian Defense Ministry claims that during the night its air defenses reacted and shot down the drone approaching the air base. The idea that a Ukrainian drone flies thousands of km over Russian territory without being intercepted raises questions about Russia's security and military installations.
