Over 300 observers accredited to monitor Moldovan local elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has accredited over 300 observers to monitor the local elections that will take place on November 5, 2023.
Of these, 28 are international observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), and 295 are national observers from the Promo-LEX civic association.
The CEC also confirmed the financial officers (treasurers) of the political parties "Platforma Demnitate și Adevăr", "Mișcarea Respect Moldova", "Partidul Dezvoltării și Consolidării Moldovei", and the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova for the period of the general local election campaign.
The commission also approved some changes to the nominal composition of the electoral councils in the Căușeni, Ialoveni, Orhei, Rîșcani, and Strășeni electoral districts.
Other decisions refer to the lifting and assignment of councillor mandates in some local councils.
