The security situation in the context of the war in Ukraine, on the agenda of the annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

The security situation in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine, the protection of democratic values and international order, are some of the topics that will be addressed at the annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which will take place from October 6-9, at the Parliament of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will be represented by the member of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Ion Șpac.

According to a press release from the Legislative, other topics are also on the agenda of the session, such as: the progress made in Sweden's accession to NATO; strengthening resilience, combating disinformation and securing critical infrastructure; China's global role and the deepening of the partnership with Russia.

Over 250 deputies from member states and associated countries are expected to attend the event.

We remind that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is an interparliamentary organization, which brings together parliamentarians from the 31 member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as from associated countries. The Republic of Moldova has been an associate member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since November 1994.
