These agreements will benefit people who are or have been subject to the legislation, such as employees, self-employed workers, posted workers, staff of diplomatic missions and consular posts, etc.

The persons concerned will be able to benefit from pensions for the age limit, disability pensions, pensions and disability allowances following accidents at work or caused by occupational diseases and survivor's pensions.

The legislation specifies that, according to the proportional principle of calculating pensions, each state will pay the part of the pension calculated in proportion to the insurance period completed in its own territory.

So far, the Republic of Moldova has concluded social security agreements with 17 states, and 15 of them are in force.
