.Pre-Vetting Commission reacts to the resignation of Commission member Vitalie Miron

The resignation of Vitalie Miron does not prevent the Commission from fulfilling its responsibilities in full capacity. It is the reaction of the Pre-Vetting commission after Vitalie Miron resigned.

"The Pre-Vetting Commission informs that it has taken note of the resignation of the Commission member, Vitalie Miron, on October 6, 2023. The Commission will continue its activity in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 26/2022 regarding some measures related to the selection of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors, which expressly empowers the Commission in this regard. Vitalie Miron's resignation does not prevent the Commission from fulfilling its responsibilities in full capacity", reads the Commission's statement.

Commission meetings will be held in the presence of at least 4 members, as provided by art. 11 paragraph (2) from Law no. 26/2022, and according to art. 13 para. (3) of the same law, the Commission's decisions will be adopted by the majority of the participating members, the Pre-Vetting Commission informed.

We mention that on Friday, Vitalie Miron announced that he submitted his resignation. He wrote on his Facebook page that the decision was taken in connection with the recent situation, it is about the case of Iulian Muntean and the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice which admitted the appeals of the non-promoted candidates.
