CEC called on the electoral contestants not to admit violations in the electoral campaign
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) issued an appeal to the electoral contestants, including their representatives and trusted persons - not to admit violations, to maintain their campaigning actions and speech within the limits of the legal framework and in accordance with democratic values and principles.
"Political competition must be conducted without hidden interests and recourse to methods of obtaining voter support by circumventing the law. The fairness that the electoral contestants will show in the general local elections of November 5, 2023 will also be an expression of the respect they have for the voters, the other electoral contestants and the society as a whole. The entire election campaign will be guided by the rule that the vote of the voters must be conscious and free," reads the CEC.
At the same time, the Central Electoral Commission calls on citizens - to report the abuses of the subjects involved in the elections and the violations of the legal norms that they will observe.
The Commission called on media institutions and observers to report all actions that affect the conduct of democratic elections, so that they can be prevented or combated in a timely and effective manner.
