US expels two Russian diplomats in response to Moscow's move
The US Department of State has declared two Russian diplomats persona non grata, in response to Russia's expulsion of two American diplomats from Moscow in September, a State Department official told RIA Novosti.
"The actions of the US Department of State send a clear signal that unacceptable actions against our embassy staff in Moscow will have consequences," the official said.
The move comes amid heightened tensions between the US and Russia following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
