Israel-Gaza conflict: Death toll from Hamas offensive surpasses 1,000

The death toll from the offensive by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas against Israel has risen to "over 1,000," the Israeli army announced, according to Agerpres.ro.

More than 2,800 people have been injured and 50 people are officially registered as "hostages or missing" in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli authorities.

In the meantime, Israel has intensified its bombardment of the Gaza Strip overnight from Monday to Tuesday, destroying several buildings.
