Moldovan PM meets with North Carolina official
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean met with North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The main topics of discussion included economic partnership, Moldova's integration into the European Union, and cultural and educational cooperation.
Recean stressed Moldova's commitment to joining the European Union, and Marshall reiterated that North Carolina is committed to supporting Moldova's European aspirations through its support for sectoral programs.
The two officials also discussed Moldova's military reform efforts, which are being carried out in accordance with Western standards. These efforts are being supported by bilateral agreements between the Moldovan Ministry of Defense and the North Carolina National Guard.
North Carolina and Moldova have been sister states since 1999, and their first collaborative projects began in 1995.
