The European Union and the Council of Europe launch a 2.7 million euro project for justice reform in the Republic of Moldova
The European Union and the Council of Europe launched a joint project worth 2.7 million euros to support justice reform in the Republic of Moldova, reads a press release from the Council of Europe. Thus, the Chisinau authorities will benefit from technical assistance to increase the independence, professionalism and transparency of the judicial sector.
The head of the Delegation of the European Union in our country, Jānis Mažeiks, stated that the European Union was and continues to be a stable partner of the Republic of Moldova in terms of providing financial assistance, expertise and guidance to ensure the implementation of justice reform.
For his part, the head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Chisinau, Falk Lange, said that, given the context of dynamic and complex reforms, the European Union and the Council of Europe joined their efforts to implement this large-scale project, which was launched today to support the authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the difficult task of reforming the judicial system.
The project will run until November 2026.
