The motion against the Recean Government failed. Only 16 deputies voted "for"
The parliamentary majority rejected the motion of censure submitted earlier this month to the Dorin Recean Government by the Bloc of Communists and Socialists. Dorin Recean together with the ministers came to the Parliament to present their achievements but also the projects planned for the next period. Deputies from the parliamentary opposition continued to criticize the Recean Government. The motion was supported by 16 deputies.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated that prices are rising all over the world and the Republic of Moldova is going through a very complicated situation, but the authorities are finding resources to help the citizens. Also, the prime minister said that the deputies who have been through different governments have had enough time to lower prices and diversify energy resources.
"The entire Government is here with me today, because the communist and socialist deputies do not agree with the recovery measures, with the salary increases and with the projects that we are implementing throughout the country in roads, in agriculture, in the development of villages. And then, I don't know if this is a motion of censure, rather, I think, the need for an electoral show. I understand that there are elections, we are in local elections. But I want to tell you that the country does not stop. The government continues to work, it does not stop the activities it is doing", declared Recean.
After Prime Minister Recean, one by one, the members of the Cabinet of Ministers came to the rostrum of the Parliament, who evoked the achievements and criticized the previous governments.
We remind you that the motion of censure on the Government's activity was initiated by 26 deputies from the parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists and was submitted in the plenary session of the Parliament on October 5. BCS deputies expressed their displeasure that for more than two years the Republic of Moldova has been in a state of emergency, and the economy and citizens' purchasing power has decreased.
We remind that, this July, BCS submitted the first motion of censure against the Recean Government and the second against the Executive appointed by PAS. In both cases the motion failed.
To dismiss the Government, 51 votes are needed, which the opposition does not have.
