The Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine signed a declaration regarding collaboration on the Prut River

A declaration regarding collaboration on the Prut River was concluded between the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine, with the aim of strengthening activities for the joint management of the river and the improvement of water quality, informs the Ministry of the Environment.

"This cooperation aims to improve the management of water problems by deepening knowledge, developing cooperation between the authorities involved in the perspective of developing prevention and early warning of the risk of accidental water pollution, developing common knowledge on aquatic biodiversity, especially in the Lower Prut", reads the press release of the Ministry of the Environment.

The Prut River is the second largest river in our country, its water being used in the national economy of the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. In the hydrographic basin of the Prut River there are 64 hydrometric stations of which 11 are in the Republic of Moldova, 8 in Ukraine and 45 in Romania.
