Steven Fisher ends his mission in our country. When will the new British ambassador arrive in Chisinau
The ties between the Republic of Moldova and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have significantly strengthened in recent years. Several bilateral visits took place and cooperation in the fight against corruption and trade facilitation intensified. As of August 1, 2023, the United Kingdom has eliminated import duties on seven Moldovan agricultural products, thus creating new opportunities for Moldovan exporters.
The head of state Maia Sandu discussed this with the British ambassador, Steven Fisher, who is ending his mandate in our country. Also, the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, today received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova, Steven Fisher, on a farewell visit.
The discussions focused on the current state of interaction between Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as on the current regional situation, the efforts made by the authorities of our country to maintain stability and security in the region.
We remind that the new British ambassador in Chisinau will be Fern Horine, who holds the position of Deputy Director of the Transformation and Operations Directorate in the British Foreign Ministry. She will arrive in Chisinau next week.
