The European Commission offers a grant of 12 million euros for investments in the railway infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova
The European Commission will offer a grant worth 12 million euros for rehabilitation and modernization projects of two key sections of railway lines in the Republic of Moldova, informs the Delegation of the European Union based in Chisinau.
Also, the European Investment Bank will provide a loan of 42 million euros. According to the source, this investment will improve our country's internal connectivity and will create an important export route for Ukraine, promoting regional stability and economic resilience.
The project will be implemented by Moldova Railway and will aim at the rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure on the Vălcineț-Ungheni-Chișinău-Căinari railway transport corridor.
The press release also states that this initiative demonstrates the commitment of the European Union to support neighboring countries in difficult times and to improve transport infrastructure.
