Ukraine's president says he sees an end to the war with a Ukrainian victory
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, says that "it is more clear" that this war will end with a victory for Ukraine. "Ukraine must become - and will become - stronger. So that we mark forever in history that the Russian empire will never come to Ukrainian land again", he emphasizes, reports Hotnews.ro.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke, in the message sent on Thursday evening, about two new defense support packages. He revealed that the American package includes, among others, missiles for air defense, missiles for HIMARS systems, ammunition, the total value of which amounts to 150 million dollars.
"Thank you to President Biden, his team, the US Congress and all Americans who value freedom. It is very important that the enemies of freedom do not have the illusion that the defense of freedom cannot withstand a defensive marathon," he added. The Danish package is worth more than $500 million and includes additional armored vehicles, drones, artillery ammunition. The Ukrainian president also referred to the preparation of the meeting on the Formula for Peace in Malta, noting that he also discussed its implementation with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen.
Zelenski added that he attended the European Council meeting and that new sanctions against Russia are being prepared, but also that, pending the EU's political decision on opening accession negotiations with Ukraine, steps are being taken to prepare the country.
