Republic of Moldova will buy electricity from Romania. Energocom signed a contract with Nuclearelectrica
SA Energocom signed a new contract for the sale and purchase of electricity for the month of January 2023 with SN Nuclearelectrica SA from Romania. According to the document, the Republic of Moldova will procure 10 MWh at night and 30 MWh during the day. The price of energy, according to this contract, is 450 RON/MWh or about 90 euros.

"As a result, it is forecasted that of the total electricity consumption requirement for the right bank of the Nistru, in January, about 60% will be provided by MGRES, about 30% will be the electricity produced by CETs and from renewable sources . Another about 10% of what is needed will be procured from suppliers in Romania, including to cover the energy deficit during peak hours", states Energocom. According to the Provision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, SA Energocom is authorized to procure electricity for the period January-March 2023. We remind you that in January, the Cuciurgan Power Plant will deliver to the Republic of Moldova more than 80 percent of the required amount of electricity, the acting director of Energocom, Victor Bânzari, told Radio Moldova. He said that on Tuesday, December 27, Energocom and the Cuciurgan Power Plant extended the electricity supply contract by another month.
