The presidency of the Republic of Moldova confirms: President of Portugal is paying a two-day visit to our country

The President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will be on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on October 30-31, at the invitation of the Head of State Maia Sandu, reads a press release of the Presidency. The announcement comes after the Portuguese media wrote about this visit on October 28.

On Monday, the Portuguese official will be welcomed with military honors at the Presidency, after which he will have meetings with Maia Sandu and the members of the delegations. Afterwards, the two heads of state will hold a joint press conference. During the day, the Portuguese leader will meet with the Parliament Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and with the Prime Minister Dorin Recean and will lay flowers at the monument of Stephen the Great and the Holy.

On Tuesday, Rebelo de Sousa will have discussions with the students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences of the State University of Moldova.

Also, President Maia Sandu and her counterpart will participate in a forum organized by the Investment Agency, during which Portuguese companies present in the region will learn about the opportunities in Moldova.

On the sidelines of the event, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the investment agencies of both countries will take place.

We remind you that between October 2 and 4, the head of state Maia Sandu visited the Republic of Portugal. This was the first time a leader of the Republic of Moldova went to Portugal. The president then declared that a new stage in bilateral relations begins.

Maia Sandu was received with military honors at the Belem Palace in Lisbon by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
