The President of Portugal is making an official visit to the Republic of Moldova
The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is expected today in Chisinau, on an official two-day visit, at the invitation of the head of state Maia Sandu. After the meeting, the two counterparts will hold a joint press conference. At the same time, the leader from Lisbon will meet with the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu and with the Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
On Tuesday, President Maia Sandu and her Portuguese counterpart will participate in a forum organized by the Investment Agency where Portuguese companies present in the region will find out about opportunities from the Republic of Moldova. There will also be a ceremony to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the investment agencies of both countries, reads a press release from the presidency.
In the context of the official visit of the President of Portugal, during two days, in the capital, in certain public places, the access of people will be temporarily limited. According to Chisinau City Hall, the measure will be taken by the police, and access will be restricted between 08:00 and 22:00.
It will also be prohibited to hold meetings, mass demonstrations, road repair works and tree cutting, in the perimeter of the streets where the official columns will move.
