Igor Grosu, after the meeting with the vice-president of Bulgaria: "We are counting on the support of this state for the start of negotiations with the European Commission"
The bilateral agenda, as well as the strengthening of economic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria, were among the topics discussed by the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, with the Vice President of Bulgaria, Iliana Iotova.
"The visit to the Republic of Moldova by the vice-president of the Republic of Bulgaria, Iliana Iotova, is further proof that we have reliable friends and neighbors who want us to be part of the European family. We count on Bulgaria's support for the start of negotiations with the European Commission. With Bulgaria, we have strong historical and cultural ties," Igor Grosu said.
The official said that, soon, the Bulgarian Parliament will identify the new composition of the parliamentary friendship group with the Chisinau Legislative. This will enable wider exploitation of the potential for cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries in various fields, including commercial, economic, educational and cultural.
According to a press release from the Legislative, topics related to the Bulgarian community in the Republic of Moldova and educational institutions teaching in the Bulgarian language were also on the discussion agenda.
We remind that the Vice-President of Bulgaria, Iliana Iotova, is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova, from October 31 to November 1.
