The President sent a ratification bill to Parliament last month, and the NATO and Stockholm Government welcomed the move. Turkey initially objected to Sweden's admission to NATO, arguing that groups it considers terrorist are tolerated on Swedish soil.

In the dialogue with the media, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that he will try to support the ratification process as long as the other parties also have a positive approach.
