President Joe Biden signed into law the federal budget bill. 45 billion dollars will be allocated to Ukraine

US President Joe Biden on Thursday signed the federal budget bill totaling 1.7 trillion dollars, which includes 45 billion for Ukraine, Agerpres reports on Friday.

President Joe Biden, on vacation in the US Virgin Islands, posted on Twitter a photo in which he signs the document that will finance the operation of the American federal state - law enforcement, diplomacy, the armed forces or economic policy, until September 2023.

"The law will invest in medical research, security, health care for veterans, relief after natural disasters or programs to combat violence against women, and 'crucial' aid to Ukraine," the US president added. The law has received support from some Republicans, ensuring smooth passage and giving Joe Biden a legislative success as his second year in the White House draws to a close and he must consider running for office in the 2024 presidential election. It includes an amendment to a 19th-century law meant to state that the US vice president cannot directly intervene in the certification of election results. Former President Donald Trump used the ambiguities of the old text to suggest that Mike Pence, his vice president, could have stopped Joe Biden from coming to power after a victory that the Republican did not want to recognize, one of the elements that led to the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
